Handling: Traditional pushrod valve actuation keeps engine height down for a lower centre of gravity and ensures more uniform heat dissipation due to absence of a cam chain case. A lower centre of gravity helps to ensure light, easy handling.



Storage: Beautifully styled, 23.5 litre, semi hard, reinforced leather saddlebags provide ample storage for causal weekend tours.

Engine Features
  • High-performance, 1854cc (113 cubic inch) air-cooled, long-stroke, OHV, 4 valves per cylinder, 48°, V-twin power plant produces massive torque & class leading acceleration from very low rpms.
  • Maximum torque occurs at 2,250 rpm while maximum power occurs at 4,500 rpm, providing exciting acceleration with great pulse & torque feel.
  • OHV, 4-valve "pent roof" cylinder heads: compact pent roof combustion chambers with 9.5:1 compression ratio; 4-valve design optimizes breathing efficiency & overall engine performance at all rpms; 36 mm intake & 31 mm exhaust valves; two spark plugs per cylinder means faster, more complete combustion for maximum power; special oil passage near exhaust valve seat improves cooling & durability; 25,000 km valve adjustment interval

  • For each rotation of the rear wheel, in 5th gear, the crank spins 3.14 times providing an outstanding rear wheel driving force feeling to the rider.
  • Dual engine counter balancers reduce engine vibration for excellent rider & passenger comfort.
  • Dry sump oil lubrication system: optimized to ensure maximum lubrication & cooling; oil jet nozzles direct oil at underside of the pistons to reduce piston & rod temperatures; dry sump system reduces engine height (no deep oil pan), which lowers the centre of gravity for great handling and a lightweight feel
  • Special "dual chamber" crankcase design: front section for the crank assembly; rear section for the transmission; two, 3-rotor high capacity oil pumps optimizes oil flow in each of the two main sections of the engine
  • Huge 100mm "ceramic composite-plated" cylinder bores: excellent heat dissipation for consistent power delivery; ceramic coating enhances the thin film of oil between the cylinder & piston, reducing friction & increasing power; extended cylinder service life

  • 43mm, "closed loop", dual bore, throttle body fuel injection system: system features Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) to help optimize intake air flow & power; system features Idle Speed Control (ISC) to ensure stable idling; 12 hole injectors optimize fuel atomization & feature a dual spray pattern for more complete combustion chamber filling; excellent throttle response; "closed loop system" uses dual oxygen sensors to "sniff" spent exhaust & automatically adjust the fuel / air ratio for reduced emissions; oxygen sensors are located before the mufflers, so the use of aftermarket "slip-on" mufflers will not affect the closed loop system; fuel injection benefits include choke-free starting, steady idling during warm up, excellent fuel economy & reduced emissions
  • Smooth-shifting, 5-speed transmission: optimized gear ratios match engine power for strong acceleration; 4th and 5th gears are overdrive gears for reduced engine rpms at highway speeds; classic heel - toe shifter with adjustable front & rear sections for various foot sizes. Rear section may be removed if desired.
  • Hydraulic "assist and slipper" clutch: heavy duty hydraulically operated wet clutch; reduced clutch lever pull / effort at the handlebar by 20% (assist function); back torque limiter a.k.a "slipper clutch" reduce the effects of engine braking when downshifting or decelerating; low maintenance, self-adjusting hydraulic master cylinder provides smooth clutch operation
